21 Dec – Match report: Boro v Halls FC

December 21, 2025

Late Goals Deny Boro at Ladywell

Boro produced a disciplined and hard-working display, but two late goals saw Halls AFC claim the points at the Ladywell Arena.

The hosts were well organised throughout the opening half, competing strongly and keeping the visitors at bay for long periods. Boro’s defensive shape and work rate ensured chances were limited, with the sides going into the break level.

After the restart, the game began to open up, with Boro continuing to match Halls for intensity. Changes from the bench helped maintain energy, and Boro looked to move the ball forward when opportunities presented themselves, while remaining compact without possession.

The deadlock was broken in the 75th minute when the visitors found a way through in what had been a closely contested encounter. Boro responded by pushing players forward in search of an equaliser and continued to compete right to the final whistle.

Deep into stoppage time, Halls were awarded a penalty, which was converted to confirm the result. The final scoreline did not reflect how competitive the contest had been for the majority of the afternoon.

There were positives for Boro to take from the performance, with organisation, effort and togetherness evident across the squad. Focus now turns to the next fixture as the group looks to build on this display.
